DOWS Board of Directors Names Robert Abreu The New President of Dominicans On Wall Street, Inc.

New York, NY (April 22, 2010) –  Dominicans On Wall Street. Inc. (DOWS) is pleased to announce that the board of directors unanimously selected Robert Abreu as the new President of DOWS effective April 9, 2010. Abreu, who was previously the Vice President of DOWS, succeeds Emmanuel Martinez who served as President for three years and has completed his term.

“On behalf of the DOWS board of directors, I congratulate Robert Abreu on becoming the new President of Dominicans On Wall Street and I congratulate the newly appointed DOWS executive officers,” said Josefa Sicard-Mirabal, Board Chair of DOWS. “For the last twelve years, DOWS has worked to bring Dominican professionals in the field of finance together under one umbrella and we are proud of our growth as an organization and our history of opening new doors for Dominicans and Latinos interested in working in the financial markets.”

Robert Abreu is the Vice President for Global Leadership & Diversity at Goldman Sachs & Co. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he spent the majority of his career working for retail and international banks. Mr. Abreu is active in a number of community-based andprofessional organizations, boards, and philanthropic organizations including The Hispanic Federation and Junior Achievement of New York. Robert received his Bachelor’s in Management from St. Peter’s College in New Jersey. Born to Dominican parents, Robert is a native of the Washington Heights section of Upper Manhattan in New York City. He lives in Bergen County, New Jersey with his wife and children.
